La Trobe University is one of Australia's pioneering universities for more than 50 years. It now has a network of campuses, with over 28,000 students at our Melbourne Campus and over 7,500 at our campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Mildura, Melbourne City (Collins Street), Shepparton and Sydney. Its key values include inclusiveness, diversity, equity and social justice. Access to higher education is a vital consideration in the learning and teaching approach. The university has developed research and policies to improve the access and achievement of under-represented students.

Today La Trobe is renowned for its academic excellence and research achievements. La Trobe University has a proud history of conducting research to address pressing societal needs. Its' researchers work in partnership with community groups, industry and government to create opportunities and address issues of local, national and international importance. 

La Trobe Asia has been established to provide leadership on all aspects of the University's engagement with Asia. It is a unique effort by an Australian university to focus on Asia with a 'whole of University' perspective and to make Asia a key part of our teaching, research and external engagement.
