Dr. Chiang has a background in Chemical Engineering and has accumulated 20 year experience in academic and industrial research. Throughout his research career, he has succeeded in securing government and industry funding to develop new research. Prior to joining RMIT, he led a team at CSIRO to develop process technologies to lower emissions and to improve fuel security. Dr. Chiang has led a number of industry projects related to the design of industrial catalysts, syngas production and conversion, gas-to-liquid technologies, greener/synthetic fuel production, hydrogen generation, chemical production, and CO2 utilisation. He has supervised 16 HDR students (10 graduated) and 3 postdoctoral fellows working on energy conversion, and water and air purification. Dr. Chiang has been successful in building international collaborations with researchers in India, Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand, Norway, Sweden, France, the UK and the USA.
