Profile overview
I have a PhD carried out within the Centre for Educational Research at Western Sydney University. My research used ethnographic methods, within a postqualitative theoretical framework, to investigate the educational environment in a residential girls school in Uttarakhand. This education, which I characterise as 'socioecological learning', reflects Gandhi thinking on education, with strong commitments to environmental and social sustainability. My ongoing research interests are in social ecology, education and in particular Education for Sustainability, particularly in intercultural contexts; and in posthuman/postqualitative methodology. I have a background in education at secondary, adult & community, and higher education levels, and was part of a Green Gown Award winning national team delivering the Graduate Vocational Certificate in Education and Training for Sustainability (Swinburne University).
