Profile overview
Nitul Deshpande graduated from the University of Melbourne with a master's degree in Applied Econometrics. Currently, he works at the Essential Services Commission where he works on projects which promote the long-term interests of Victorian consumers with respect to the price, quality, and reliability of essential services. Previously, he has worked as an Economist at Hobsons Bay City Council on a project to analyse the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns on the businesses and communities of Hobsons Bay. Alongside this, he works as an Academic Councillor at M & S Research Hub, to amplify the careers of academics and graduate students, by training them in applied econometrics and statistics. His interests are in econometrics, statistics, regulatory economics, development economics, energy economics, and macroeconomic modelling.
