Profile overview
I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney. My key areas of expertise include rail transportation geotechnics, ground improvement, soil dynamics and earthquake engineering, constitutive and numerical modeling. I have been involved in a number of contract research, testing and consultancy projects in Australia and India.
I am proudly associated in a collaborative project led by UTS in partnership with IIT Kharagpur on "Heavy-haul Indian Railway: Towards Safe, Efficient and Sustainable Design" supported by the Australia-India Council grant 2020-21 | Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (dfat.gov.au). I also feel honored to be a fellow of the Australia–India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) Early- and Mid-Career Researcher (EMCR).
I am a recipient of Institution of Civil Engineer’s (ICE) 2014 Thomas Telford Premium award in the area of Ground improvement. I am honored with the Second Professor Joseph M Sussman Best Paper Prize awarded to the most outstanding paper published within Frontiers in Built Environment - Transportation and Transit Systems in 2019. This is an annual prize, introduced in 2018 to commemorate the legacy of late Specialty Chief Editor of the section, Massachusetts Institute of Technology JR East Professor Joseph M Sussman. I have also received Editor's Choice Award for the best paper in International Journal of Geosynthetics and Ground Engineering in 2020.
