I'm Nikhil Tiwari from New Delhi, India. I'm enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate in Centre for East Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. My areas of interest includes Taiwan and its relation with Mainland China, Taiwan's democratisation and consolidation of its democracy, social movements and civic participation.

Currently, I'm working on my tentative Thesis topic , "Enquiry into The Role of Social Movements in Taiwan's Democratisation and Democratic Consolidation (1975-2000).

My work encompasses three social movements of Taiwan which are - Student Movements, Women's Movements, and Environmental Movements. My purpose is to analyse the contribution of these three movements to Taiwan's democratisation using the archival and other available resources.
