Dr. Anamika Barua is a professor at the Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), India. Her research interest in Ecological Economics lies in understanding how political, social, and economic factors shape environmental decisions and change, particularly related to water. Her area of interest includes – climate change and water security, ecological footprints, virtual water flow through trade, and water governance including transboundary water governance. She was a part of the re-drafting committee of the Water Policy 2020. She has published peer-reviewed articles in several leading international journals and has recently edited a book on ‘Climate Change Governance and Adaptation’ published by the CRC Press. She is serving as an academic editor to PLOS Climate editorial board.
