Collaboration information
My research is on the use of Aadhaar (India's biometric-based digital ID) for identifying recipients of state welfare programs. Research focuses on policies which are universal in nature and where Identity (ghost and duplicate beneficiaries) fraud is the primary cause of leakages. As a case study for this research, I am investigating the SARAL policy of the Maharashtra state government in the school education system.
Broad areas for further collaboration can be as follows.
1) Biometric ID and state capacity to target welfare policies.
2) Foundational/Digital ID and state capacity
3) ID for children.
