IIT Madras & Deakin University launch Research Academy

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and Deakin University, Australia, have jointly unveiled the 'IIT Madras Deakin University Research Academy.'

Through collaborative global research projects, joint supervision and scholarships, the Academy aims to support graduate research scholars from SAARC and ASEAN countries. The research scholars will conduct research in key areas vital to Australia and India, including clean energy, critical technologies, sustainability, climate change, healthcare technologies, and more.

Building on over a decade-long collaboration between Deakin University and IIT Madras, the research academy will offer a four-year joint PhD program with scholarships, joint supervision by faculty from both institutions and access to research facilities and resources. The research academy will also provide for participation in an open innovation ecosystem and research network and the opportunity for collaboration with top industry partners in India and Australia.
