Ministers reinforced the importance of global collaboration
India’s Minister of Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh, and Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, welcomed Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Women, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, and Minister for Defence, the Hon Peter Dutton MP, to New Delhi for the first India-Australia 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue.
The Ministers noted with appreciation that Australian and Indian researchers are working together to advance COVID-19 screening and study the future health effects of the virus through projects funded by the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund. Ministers reinforced the importance of ongoing global collaboration to prevent and respond to infectious disease outbreaks to reduce the risk of future pandemics.
